RAIL DOGS ROUND-UP: THANK YOU

The Railway Dogs Benevolent Fund was established this year to help pay for ongoing medical care so canine crime fighters can enjoy a long and happy retirement. Read more about what we have achieved so far.

We can’t do this without your help.

There are several easy ways you can show your support for BTPs retired police dogs:

You can also make a donation which will help to pay for a dog’s medical care in retirement.

When police dogs finish work, all costs relating to their health and welfare become the responsibility of the owner; usually the handler who takes the dog on as a family pet. Vet bills can be extremely costly, and it is difficult to obtain adequate pet insurance cover because of pre-existing ailments, injuries sustained at work and conditions related to the dangerous nature of policing.

Since we launched, we have received donations from events such as the National Rail Awards, gifts from individuals and from organisations such as British Transport Police Federation.

If you are able to, you can make a donation here. Thank you.
