RAIL DOGS ROUND-UP: OUR PLANS

The Railway Dogs Benevolent Fund was established this year to help pay for ongoing medical care so BTP’s retired police dogs can enjoy a long and happy retirement. You can read about our progress so far in our previous round-up.

Looking ahead, we’re hoping to complete our charity registration early in 2020. At present we’re operating as a not-for-profit fund; registering as a charity has several benefits, including being able to claim Gift Aid on donations. This means for every £1 donated we can claim another 25p from the Government, so gifts from supporters will make an even bigger difference.

We’re working on plans for future events and potentially making some more items for sale via our online shop. So far the pin badges we have had made are selling well. If you have bought one, thank you.

We’ve been informed that some of our supporters are looking at fundraising ideas on our behalf which is very kind. If you have any ideas or are able to help us raise awareness or funds, please do get in touch.
